Situation

In an effort to enhance customer engagement and fleet management, Emarat introduced a tiered loyalty card system designed to offer exclusive benefits to both corporate and individual users. The loyalty cards—Atheer, Safeer, and Safeer Plus—were developed to incentivize repeat business while providing practical rewards, such as free coffee, car washes, and points redeemable at Emarat stations and affiliated stores.

Our team was engaged to design and execute the loyalty card system, collaborating with Emarat’s marketing and operational departments to ensure the cards aligned with their brand and business goals. These cards played a crucial role in Emarat’s strategy to foster customer loyalty and drive upfront revenue through pre-loaded balances.

Tasks

The project needed to balance aesthetic appeal with functionality, integrating residential, commercial, and public spaces while preserving the historical character of the area.

We were tasked with creating the design for Emarat’s tiered loyalty card system and managing its implementation. This involved working closely with Emarat’s marketing team to develop logos, select appropriate color schemes, and coordinate production with European suppliers. Additionally, we were responsible for ensuring the cards met quality standards and resonated with corporate clients, such as taxi fleets, school buses, and government organizations.

Actions

To bring the loyalty card system to life, we took a multi-faceted approach that covered design, quality assurance, and customer engagement.

Card Design & Branding:

Collaborating with Emarat’s marketing team, we created distinct designs for the Atheer, Safeer, and Safeer Plus cards. Each card was designed to reflect its tier level and targeted customer base. We selected the color schemes, designed the logos, and ensured that the branding was consistent with Emarat’s overall image.

Supplier Coordination & Quality Control:

We coordinated with European suppliers to manage the production of the cards, conducting multiple quality checks to ensure that the final product met all standards of durability, functionality, and design. This involved close communication between Emarat and the suppliers to ensure timely delivery.

Customer Engagement & Targeting:

The loyalty cards were tailored for major corporate clients, including police forces, taxi services, and school buses. These clients could pre-load money onto the cards, allowing them to manage their fleet’s fueling expenses while benefiting from Emarat’s loyalty rewards program. This strategy not only provided convenience for the clients but also ensured Emarat received upfront cash flow.

Result

The successful launch of Emarat’s tiered loyalty card system enhanced customer engagement, particularly among corporate clients. The cards increased repeat business, strengthened customer loyalty, and provided Emarat with a steady cash flow from pre-loaded balances.

The visually distinct designs and seamless integration with Emarat’s services contributed to the program’s success, driving higher usage of Emarat’s stations and related amenities. This project further solidified Emarat’s position as a leader in innovative fuel management solutions and customer loyalty in the UAE.
